Shirley Ann Vieau

Shirley Evans (Vieau), age 90, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Shirley was born on October 26th of 1935 to the late Harold and Ethel Chaltron. She lived in the Richmond Michigan area for most of her life. She graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1954, and after working as a bookkeeper she met and married the love of her life, the late Archie Evans, in 1956. Shirley and Archie had 3 sons: Daniel, Timothy and Patrick. Another son Robert (Vieau), and three stepdaughters, Marsha (Short Lvt), Tamera (Gainer), and Robin (Vieau) were added to the family after Archie’s passing in 1963 and a subsequent marriage to Robert Lowel Vieau. Shirley was a devoted mother and friend of many, throughout her lifetime. She was skilled in knitting and crocheting and created many beautiful articles for family and friends. She was active in the prayer shawl ministry at St. Mary Mystical Rose parish, in Armada, and created blankets and shawls for the ill and for the less fortunate. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Augustine Parish in Richmond. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ethel and by her sisters Joan (Dawe), and Barbara (Fredrick). She is survived by her sister Beverly (Rice), son and daughters-in-law Daniel (Jeanette) Evans, son Timothy (Jennifer) Evans, Patrick (Cheryl) Evans and Robert Vieau. Shirley is also survived by grandchildren Chelsie (Keith) Berninger, Mitchel Evans, Sara (Patrick) Gresell, Ryan Evans, Christian (Rose) Evans, Neal Evans, Katie Evans, and great grandchildren Violet, and Willow Berninger.

Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Peshek Family Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker lane, Richmond, MI 48062. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Saturday, June 6, 2026 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St., Richmond, MI 48062
