Stephen Alan Murray

Stephen Alan Murray, 76, of Richmond Twp., passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at McLaren Macomb Hospital. Stephen was born April 11, 1949 to the late Leslie and Ruth Murray. Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Kandy Murray, children, Stephen Murray Jr., Emily Keener, Theresa (Dwayne) Samson, Sonya (Gerald) Mack, Timothy (Brandi Schwartz) Murray and Elizabeth Rapier, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, sibling, Linda Lamontagne and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Paul Stockwell, sisters Carol Hill, and Bernice McNeaney and son in law, Tim Keener. Stephen proudly served his country as an M.P. for 23 years in the United States Army. He then worked for the Dept of Defense as police officer at Selfridge Air Force Base and retired from Homeland Security on September 30, 2010. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and was always listening to music.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Peshek Family Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday, February 2, 2026 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St., Richmond, MI 48062.

Burial will take place after Mass at St. Michaels Cemetery, 67725 Main St., Richmond, MI 48062.
