Thomas (Tim) Joseph O'Mara

Thomas (Tim) O’Mara Jr. age 88, of Deckerville, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026 at United Hospice Residence, Marlette. He was born March 22, 1938 in Palms, Michigan to the late Thomas and Josephine O’Mara. Tim graduated from Deckerville Community School in 1956, and honorably served in the United States Army. He married Ruth (Burgess) on October 18, 1958. They were married 66 years. Tim had a long successful career with Lochinvar Water Heater Corporation. He was also very involved with many community activities. Tim was an avid outdoorsman and passed on that legacy to his kids and grandkids. Tim is survived by 5 children: Tom (Karen) O’Mara, Jim (Lori) O’Mara, Jayne (Bill) Fisher, Pat (Scott) McVittie, and Kelly (Mark) Watson, sixteen grandchildren, 29 1/2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Tim is also survived by his sister Cheryl Deike, sisters-in-law Sandy O’Mara and Mary Burgess. Tim was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth, his parents: Thomas and Josephine O’Mara, his in laws: William and Mrytle Burgess, brothers: Garth, Rodney, and infant brother Joseph, brothers-in- law: William Burgess, and Chuck Deike, sister- in- law: Donna Gordon.

Arrangements have been made by Peshek Family Funeral Home – Apsey Chapel. The family will celebrate both Tim and Ruth at a family memorial service which will be held at a later date.

Memorials in honor of Tim can be made to United Hospice of Marlette or the Deckerville Education Foundation.
