Titus Salowitz

Titus Salowitz, age 94, of Palms, passed away Wednesday July 30, 2014 in Autumnwood of Deckerville. He was born January 4, 1920 in Palms, MI, the son of the late August and Martha (Partaka) Salowitz. Titus married Gertrude Booms on June 12, 1944 in Ruth, MI. He was a lifelong area farmer, a Grand Knight in the Ruth and Bad Axe K of C Council, a member of the Palms Men's Club, and past secretary of the St. Patrick's Credit Union. He and his wife Gertrude raised six children, David (Susan) Salowitz of Carsonville, Doug (Jackie) Salowitz of Palms, John (Bonnie) Salowitz of Decker, Sharon Tahansky of Armada, Audrey Stolicker of Deckerville, Nancy (Larry) Gearhart of TN. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, one brother Wilfred Salowitz of Palms and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held to honor the life of Titus Salowitz at Noon Monday August 4, 2014 In St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Palms, St. Isadore Parish, Fr. Todd Arnberg will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM., until Noon on Monday in church. Memorials may be given to United Hospice, the Deckerville Education Foundation, or Gideon's International.
