Valerie Adelia Pierson

Valerie A. Pierson, age 88, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 18, 1937, in Owosso, Michigan. She married Albin J. Pierson on January 12, 1957and moved to Palms, MI, then Minden City. Valerie spent her life creating a legacy of joy, warmth, acceptance, love and laughter. She was a hardworking, selfless, fun-loving woman who was always up for an adventure, a good laugh, or a big hug. Whether she was initiating a bit of good-natured shenanigans or sitting down for a lively, competitive game of euchre, Valerie knew how to bring people together and make every moment memorable. Valerie was a long-time member of the Port Sanilac Garden Club, where she shared her deep appreciation for flowers and loved socializing with her lady friends. Over the years, she channeled her creativity into her own gardens, building and nurturing many beautiful flower beds that she—and everyone who visited her—enjoyed for decades. Valerie was a devoted, God-loving Christian woman who walked through life with a servant’s heart. She spent decades giving back to her community, volunteering her time with the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Posse. Professionally, she brought her gentle, nurturing touch to the local hospital as a Nurse's Aide, where she especially loved her time caring for newborns in the baby nursery. But above all, Valerie’s true passion and favorite hobby was her family. Her unconditional love shone brightest when she was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. Valerie is survived by her children, Jerry Pierson (Rose) of Deckerville, Ward Pierson of Deckerville, Mike Pierson of Minden City, Keith Pierson (Jane) of Minden City, and Deann McFarlane (Don) of Deckerville. She is also survived by her 15 cherished grandchildren and her 30 adored great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albin Pierson; her grandson, Eldon; her parents, and her 4 siblings.

Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026 at The Peshek Family Funeral Home – Apsey Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Peshek Family Funeral Home – Apsey Chapel, 3467 Main St., Deckerville, MI 48427.
