Vernice Hill

Vernice E. Hill, age 89 of Deckerville, formerly of Carsonville, died Friday August 5, 2011 in Autumnwood of Deckerville. She was born August 20, 1921 in Bad Axe, the daughter of the late Vern and Martha (Paling) Merrill. She married Everett Hill on November 28, 1940 in Deckerville. He preceded in death October 5, 1993. Vernice was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Deckerville, the Women's Bible Study Group, and the Senior Citizen Group. She enjoyed reading, gardening, making clothes for her children when they were younger and in her later years looking at old pictures. She is survived by one son Ron (Carolyn) Hill of Carsonville, three daughters, Carol (John) Hoose of Hartland, Janet (George) Delleree of Carsonville and Miss. Lois Hill of Ruby, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, one sister Donna (David) Meyer of PA., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Gordon Merrill September 30, 2007. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Vernice E. Hill will be 1:00 PM., Tuesday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastors Jed Willis and Paul Slivka will officiate. Burial will be in Washington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM., Monday and 10:00 AM., to 1:00 PM., Tuesday.
