Violet Parrott

Violet Isabelle Parrott, age 91, of Marysville, formerly of Deckerville, went home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2012. She was born on September 29, 1920 to William John and Bertha Jane (Somerville) Young in Palms, MI., the sixth of seven daughters. She married Vernon Parrott on August 31, 1940 in Deckerville. He preceded in death on October 25, 1998. Violet owned and operated Violet's Beauty Salon for many years in Deckerville, retiring at the age of 72. She was a long time active member of the Deckerville Bible Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Sandy and Carolyn Parrott of Marysville, four grandchildren, Dr's Dean and Sally McFarlane Parrott of Okemos, Jill and Tony Pitts of Fort Gratiot, Matthew and Suzanne Parrott of Rockford, and Rebecca and Nathan Peltz of Grand Rapids, five great grandchildren whom she adored, Hannah and Josiah Parrott, Clare and Joshua McFarlane-Parrott and Catherine Pitts. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Belva Caswell, and an aunt Mrs. Frances Simmons both of Deckerville and many nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her mother when she was two years old, her father, and six sisters, Bessie Brabant, Lillian Workman, Evelyn Jones, Selma Young, Doris Scott, and Mildred Hamm. Services will be held at 11:00 AM., Friday August 31, 2012 in the Apsey Funeral Home in Dekerville, Pastor Jeffery Homan of the Deckerville Bible Church will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday August 30, form 4:00-8:00 PM., in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Deckerville Bible Church or Gideons International.
