William (Bill) Decker was born November 30, 1949, in Deckerville. He suffered a stroke a year ago and has been cared for in various facilities in Sanilac County since then. He died Saturday May 11, 2024, in Autumnwood of Deckerville. He was the fourth child of eleven children born to the late Leigh and Virginia Decker. He married Loretta Hellow on June 21, 1980, in Deckerville She preceded him in death July 30, 2012.

Bill was a Vietnam Veteran and received a Bronze Star for his acts of valor. As a young man, he participated in Boy Scouts and as an adult, he was a scout leader. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and canoeing. He worked at and retired from DOTT Manufacturing in Deckerville. After retirement, he was a roofer, electrician, carpenter, plumber, and all-around handyman for his family and friends. He was a fun-loving practical joker.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Decker and sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Terry Woodward and his stepdaughter Roxanne. He is survived by his brothers, James (Gayle) Decker, Paul (Jo) Decker and Ed (Kaite) Decker and sisters Janet (John) Pomann, Sue (Jim) Thill,

Sal (Arnold) DeLeon, Linda (James) Downer, and Ruth (Terry) Burke, his step-children Rosie Hellow, James Slavic, Lori Wayne and Michael Hallow. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Cremation has taken place, and a private memorial will be arranged at a later date. Arrangements were made by the Apsey Funeral Home and condolences may be sent online to apseyfuneralhome.net. Memorials may be given to Hospice.
