William E. Phelps Jr.

William E. Phelps Jr, age 78, of Forester Township, went to be with the Lord Tuesday March 26, 2019 in the Sanilac Medical Care Facility. William was born May 11, 1940 in Detroit the son of the late William E. and Sarah (Bary) Phelps Sr. He was the last Forester Township Constable and worked as a part time police officer for eighteen years in Carsonville. He served in the Army Reserve. Worked for ADT alarm systems in Detroit for thirty-seven years. He was known by his grandchildren as "Donald Duck". He will be sadly missed as one of the ‘last great gentlemen". William is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Bonnie Phelps of Forester Township; two sons, William E. (Kellie) Phelps III of Sandusky, William J (Rita) Buckley of Prescot; one daughter Peggy Sue (John) Obermesik of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Funeral services to celebrate the life of William E. Phelps Jr., will be 2:00 Pm Friday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service on Friday.
